The Langham Hotel

The first 'High Tea' or afternoon tea to be sampled was at the Langham Hotel. Served in the Winery Bar, Afternoon Tea is available from 12 until 4.30pm daily. The Winery Bar is a sumptuous, sunken lounge filled with comfortable armchairs and couches perfect for stretching out in when you have overeaten! Fifteen teas were on offer and I'm sure I chose the best, 'Rose and French Vanilla' which was served in a china tea pot. I was a bit surprised that the tea was in tea bag form though. A three tiered cake stand held a layer each of scones, sandwiches and small cakes. Some better that others. The favourite for me were tiny little lamingtons.
Staff were polite and professional.
